M&jesty'a Gorern sent hare had under consideration Sir Gilbert
Clayton's report on his aisaion to Your Majeaty for the sett lea ent
of outstanding questions between His Majesty's GoTeniaent and Hejd,
His Majeaty'a Government learned of Your Majesty's desire
for the revision at the Treaty of 1916 and realising that certain
articles of the treaty are no longer appropriate owing to the
change of circtBStanoee since that date His Majesty's Governoent
will be prepared to discuss the question of the revision of the
treaty and hope to address a further conaunication to Tour Majesty
on this subject in the near future*
The attention of His Majesty's Goveraaent has also been drawn
to the correspondenoe between Your Majesty and Sir Gilbert Clayton
regarding the protection of Nejdian interests in laaascus by
His Britannic Majesty's Consul in that place and they do not desire
to raise any objection to Your Majesty entering into direct
co^aunioation with the French authorities in ayria through Tour
Majesty's representative in that country*
With reference to the Rejd delugetion which Tour Majesty
proposed to send to India I have already inforaed Tour Majesty
that this aatter has been settled in accordance with /our
Majesty's wishes and that there is no objection to the
delegation proceeding if and when desired.
