hearing of the case,and where the British agent wishes to
make diplomatic representations on grounds of equity to

judgment shflill be edjcumrd and shell not be executed
while such re^reaentatione beif^> made,and in no cate
shallthe execution of jud/^aerrt proceed except after
pemieeion of His Majesty King Abdul Asis.
The provisions of this article are .however,not
to apply in the ceee of Britieh subjects or persona
enjoying the protection of Hie Britannic Majesty t who are
habitually resident in hejdi and Hejasi territories
outside Jeddah and other seaports at which His Britannic
Majesty may appoint consular agents*
Article 7.
His Majesty King Abdul Asia undertakes to co
operate with Hie Britannic Majesty in the suppression of
the slave trade and to recognise the right of manumission
of His Britannic Majesty’s Consuls at Jeddah and elsewhere
ArticIiiL.
The present treaty shall be ratified and the
ratifications shall be exchanged as soon as possible# It
shall canoe into force ixstmdiately upon ratification and
•hall be binding during seven years from the date of
its coming into foroe,when the treaty concluded i
the High British Government and His Majesty King Abdul
Asis on the 26th of December, 191&, shall cease to have
effect. In case neither of the high contracting parties
shall have given notice to the other six months before
the expiration of the said period of seven years of his
intention
