the questions of including in the proposed
treaty an article similar to Article VI of the
treaty of 1915 and of obtaining from Ibn Saud
an undertaking guaranteeing freedom of religious
observance for Indian Moslems, Mr. Amery considers
that these questions, together with any further
uoints which it may be desired to raise upon the
revised draftjahould be considered at a further
Conference and it is being suggested to the
Foreign Office that a date should be arranged
when Mr. Jordan, the Acting British Consul at
Jeddah, who is at present on his way to this
country, could attend.
3. I am also to invite reference to the
telegrams from the High Commissioners for Palestine
and Iraq enclosed in the letters from this Department
No.C/16050/26 and C/16105/26 of the 18th and 19th
of August. As regards Article 3 of the draft treaty (f-^

Lord Plumer's argument that this Article should be
