of Nejd and its Dependencies undertakes, as his fathers
did before him, to refrain from all aggression on, or
interference with the territories of Kuwait, Bahrain, and
of the Shaikhs of ^atar and the UCkaatt: Coast, who are
under the protection of the Government of His Britannic
Majesty and who have Treaty relations with the said
Government*
Article 7«
His Majesty the King of the Hejaz and Sultan of
Hejd and its Dependencies undertakes to cooperate with
His Britannic Kajesty in the suppression of the slave
trade and to recognise the right of manumission of
His Britannic Majesty^ Consular Officers at Jeddah
and elsewhere.
Article 8.
The present treaty snail be ratified and the
ratifications shall he exchanged as soon as possible.
It shall come into force immediately upon ratification
and shall be binding during seven years from the date of
its coming into force, when the treaty concluded between
His Britannia Majesty and His Majesty the King of the
Hejaz and Sultan of Hejd and its Dependencies, then
Sultan of Hejd, on the 26th of December, 1915, shell
cease to have effect. In case neither oi the high
contracting parties shall have given notice to tne otner
six months before the expiration of the said period of
seven years of his intention to terminate the treaty it
shall remain in force until tne expiration of six months
from the day on which either of the high contracting
such
parties shall have given/notice.
