Ko.1267/652 Kxt. dated 7th December on the eutfect or the
apparent inclination of Hie Hlghn.ee Ibn ia'ud to abeorb th.
qatar principality.
2. The High Commieeioner had recently spent some day* with : ie
Hlehnese •(from 27th November to 2nd December^ during which th.
statu, of ^atar was in evidense in connection with a project,
under consideration by Ibn Sa-ud, for the grant of on .11
Concession for a tract of Sajd territory. Sir Percy Cox found
that in hie discussions with th. Xcngin.er representing the
aspirant conceesionnaires His Highness had apparently incluued
the qatar peninsular within the tract of country for which he
was prepared to negotiate a concession. Sir I’.rcy 0o»
at once took him to task,reminding him that lie had nothin to do
with Hater except to respect It, under th* terms of his treaty with
us, and insisting on th. limitation of hin discissions to country
