Hast of Sabaknat Matti is tne large desert of
Dnafrah, containing six sub-divisions - Taff-BaJaunah
Taff, Bainunan, unafran proper, Qufa and Liwa - of
wnicn tne southern-most, Llwa, is tne only one to
support a settled population. inese inhabit 30 or 40
village oases, possessing considerable date groves,
amongst tne sand dunes. Tne wnole population is
composed of Bani Yas and Manasir Bedouin. Tne former
are fellow-tribesmen of tne dnaikns of Abu unabi and
Dibai.
Tne Manasir are friendly and allied to tne aani
Yas. An increasing number of tnem go pearl diving in
simmer.

Manadhah, occupied by Banl Kaab, seems to nave
no connection witn Baralmi. Its i>nnikl»s possess
porperties in Sonar (of Muscat).
