and the Kaimi headman of Lamriyah took the Bani ^itab
Shaikh to Abu Dhabi to settle the feud between the i^ani
^itab and the Bani Yas.
12« In the same month the Ibadhi leaders of Oman,
who are equally ant i- Sult an (of Muacat) and anti* I bn
Sa^d,commenced their offensive against Dhahirah and
Baraimi and initially achieved considerable success*
After the capture of Ibrl, however, they quarrelled*
Shaikh Sulaiman bin liaroyar defected and Shaikh Isa bin
Saleh fell ill* The Imam and Shaikh Isa then abandoned
the expedition and returned to their homes*

14* In February 1926 it was reported that the Amir
of Uasa had sent a t>oaee of police to 'hargah in pursuit
of a Najdi criminal* In the letter addressed to the
haikh the extradition of the brirainal was demanded*
The accused was not found and the Hajdi police went on to
AJman and Has al Khaimah* Apparently the man escaped
detection. Incidentally, it was reported at the same
time that Kajdl slave-traders were boldly bringing
African negroes and (according to later report-) war-
captives down to thi coastal towns for sale; arm furth
that the Trucial shaikhs were afraid to interfere with
them*

superior officials, Said and Ibn ai*eur, to collect
