I euclose for the acceptance of H. M* the iing
three sets of 4 stamps of each variety issued for civil
post offices in the Mosul Vilayat.
The sets are corner sets in the anna variety
and marginal ones in the other varieties, sheets of
varieties other than the i * miU ^ vin S in th8ir o ri ^i n&1
condition only a narrow margin at the to»^_
The stamps are Turkish Revenue Stamps, Turkish^ ,
postage stamps not being available locally.
4 sets are being sent separately to the^Imperial
V/ar Uuseum, London; 4 to the S.2.0. London «ud 37V to
tb< o p r.- ZSK d 1 a t.yi hnti OB.- to go^ta l 1 str>tion.
4 sets are also toeing sent officially to the
secretary of State for India and *.to the aovern^nt of
India in the Foreign Department, and 9 sets to the
D.G. Fosts and Telegraphs, India.

This part of the volume (folios 38-70) contains correspondence related to the reopening of the Turkish civil post office at Mosul Vilayet (province) and the question of which overprint to use on the available Turkish stamps. The three overprint options that were under discussion are the following: 'Mosul in British Occupation', 'Iraq in British Occupation' and Indian stamps surcharged 'I.E.F."D"'. This part also contains correspondence regarding the arrangement of four sets of stamps of each variety to be sent to His Majesty King George V, the Imperial War Museum, and to the General Post Office.
