DATA RE COAL SOLD TO IDKREH
Weir sold through Abdulkader coal to the Idareh and Ahdulkader
collected the value partly in cash and the balance in hills drawn
by the Idareh on Bucknall for £1569-1-11, and Strick for £855-19-11
These bills he posted to Weir. Prior to accepting above bills
Abdulkader telegraphed Weir asking if Bucknall would accept the
bill drawn on them by Idareh, and he received reply in affirmative.
As Weir*s Agent in Buereh was in need of funds Weirs asked
Abdulkader to remir the Coal money to him. Therefore Abdulkader
telegraphed Weirs to return the two bills and drew against same
on Bucknalls and Strick telegraphically through Manchester merchant
intending to remit the proceeds to Weir’s Busreh Agent.
Weirs not hearing from their Buareh Agent, Pines, thar he had
receibed this money, encashed Bucknall’s bill under a letter of
guarantee.
Abdulkader heating from Manchester that Bucknall and Strick had
refused the bills naturally did not remit the money to Pines.
Abdulkader did not encash the above bills from the Idareh, as
may have been led to believe, but ne drev in Bucknalls and
Strick against the Idareh bills,(which had been drawn in his
favor, and which he had wired Weirs to return) in order ^o remit
the proceeds to Pines, being under the impression that Bucknalls
could not do otherwise than accept the bills he himself drew
on them
Hearing from Bucknalls that Weir had encashed the bill and
therefore that they could not accept his telegraphic
Abdulkader wired Weirs to repay the amount so that B icknalls
would, honour his draft
