With reference to your letter ITo P 2984 of September-]^
4th, relative to the proposed despatch of delegates
to India by the Sultan of ITejd, I am directed by Mr.
Secretary Chamberlain to transmit to you the accompanying
copy of a telegram from the Acting British Agent and
Consul at Jeddah, giving the further particulars asked
for in your letter.
2. It seems probable that Hafiz Wahba, who is
mentioned in this telegram, is identical with the Mullah
Hafiz, who attended the Koweit conference in 1924 as one
of Ibn Saud* s delegates. A full account of the past
history of this individual was given in enclosure £
in Colonial Office letter Ho. 4322/24 of February 13th
