Action on 14th August 1924.
"C H Section, 2 A.C.C** comprising 3 armoured cars moved
off at 0700 hours with orders to reconnoitre and report on body
of Wahabis in vicinity of Ziza. On arrival at Yadude I was
told by the inhabitants that they had been attacked that
morning by Wahabi who were at present 4 miles east. I there
fore proceeded along the track in the direction of Teneib
until on a rise of about one and a half miles from iadude
I was in a position to observe the raiders dispositions
which was as follows:- Their main body was dismounted on top
of a hill about 1 mile north of Teneib. I counted five
green standards with them. They appeared to be resting and no
action was taking place. Teneib they also occupied but I saw
no banners. Umm el Ammed was in their hands. This p^rty with
two standards was evacuating and making their way cc join
the main body. Further South I observed a party with one
banner also coming into the main body from the direction of
Madeba. This reconnaissance took place from 0815 to0830
hfcurs.
I at once proceeded to get into communication with
Amman and to do so had to go back to Kiair. where I could
tap the telegraph lines. While doing ao I saw 3 9a'a take off
from Amman ao returned immediately to Yadude as I reasoned
the machines would discover the situation for themselves
and if I was visible in the vicinity would give me orders.
On arriving at Yadude and making enquiries I was told that
bombs had been dropped. Reasoning that action was thus
authorised I proceeded in the direction of the raiders, and
