13. At 1050 hours the 3 D.H.a’s having been reloaded
with bombs and ammunition, left Amman and were over the enemy
at 1130 hours (five minutes after the armoured cars had broken
off action). The enemy were again attacked with bombs and
machine guns. At this time they were a complete rabble,
moving B.8.B. with all speed.
At 1150 ho^rs Squadron Leader J.H.D’Albiac landed
beside the armoured cars arid ordered Flying Officer H.H.
Thornton to return to Zissa.
At 1210 hours the 3 machines landed at -amman.

Leader Hunter and Flying Officer Collingwood, passengers

16. during the morning a wireless message had been sent to
Headquarters, Palestine Command, asking that 1 section of
armoured cars, which were already under orders, should pro
ceed to Amman at once, also 1 flight oi Bristol Mghtera.
17. At 1150 hours the Flight of Brietols arrived and at
2030 hours the section of armoured cars arrived.
16. At 1430 hours one D.H.9a, Pilot, ilight Lieut. S.H.
Wallage and 4 Bristol Fighters, Pilots, Flying Officer
Bousefield, Flying Officer Falconer, Sergeant Tosteven
and Sergeant Rogers, left Amman to harras the retreating
Wahabis with machine guns. They came in touch at 1530
hours, 40 miles east ot Ziza.
During this action all machines were hit by rifle
fire and Bying Officer Falconer and L.A.C. Ross, machine
gunner in another machine were wounded, 'lying Officer had
