Sir ,
I have the honour to make the following report on
the operations carried out against the Wahabis on 14th
August, 1924. All times mentioned refer to local time.
At 0500 hours a lorry left Amman with petrol for
1.
Ziz**.
2. At 0545 hours this lorry was stopped by natives, at
Kissa, who informed the driver that the f ahacis had raided
Ziza and Yaduda, 12 miles south of Amman.
3. The driver immediately returned to Amman to report
what he had heard.
4. At 0655 hours one D.H9a , Pilot Flight Lieut. S.H«
Wallage M.C. left Amman to reconnoitre, and returned at
0710 hours corroborating the report.
5 . At 0700 hours a tireless message was despatched to
Headquarters, Palestine Cormand. informing them of the repo*
of the presence of Wahabi., and saying that a D.H.9a had beai
sent out to corroborate.
The Acting Chief British Representative and the
Acting Chief Minister of the Trans-Jordan Government were
also informed, and eventually agreed that immediate action
should be taken.
6. At 0700 hours. 3 armoured oars were deepatohed m
the direction of Yadude to reconnoitre.
7. At 0712 hours a wireless message was despatched
corroborating the original report, and permission was
requested to take action; in the meantime 3 D.H.Sa’s v,ere got
ready
