could be occupied commanding the line of retreat from the sangars. At
6 miles the nala opens out and thence onward over the stony daman
towards Sahibzada which lies about 9 miles to the west. {Walters.)
BIBI KE-POKH—
A tomb on right hand side of the track 13 miles from Badinchah on
the road to Yadgar Chah.
It is similar to those at Chah Sir (y. v.) and has a few modern graves
round it.
The people come from very long distances to bury their dead here.

BIBI-MAH CHAH.—Lat. 29 0 9 ; Long. 6 o° 59 / ; Elev.
A spring in a nala on the south-western foot of the highest peak of
the Koh-i-Bibi Mah. The spring is amongst the roots of a large givan
tree and the peak towers above it. The nala here is very narrow, but
300 yards lower down opens out somew'hat and has several large
given trees in its bed. The water in the spring, of which there was a
large quantitv, was of the colour of very strong tea and had a most
offensive smell; the guide assured me however that after it had been
cleaned out the water was very good, and had only got into that state
from not having been used for a long time. Clearing out the spring
would be a matter of some difficulty, as the surface of the water is six
feet down and the water has a depth of three feet.
Near the spring is a dedicated to Bibi Mah, the sister of Pir
Sultan, who is the patron saint of camelmen. The camping-ground near
the spring is commanded by hills, and is small. Fuel is abundant, but
camel-grazing scarce and there is no grass, or other supplies. {Roome.)
BIJAR CHAH.—Elev. 2 , 252 '.
A well on the west edge of the naivar shewn on the map to the north
east of Dranakoh, and is the second stage between Amir Chah and
Saindak. The well is over 60 feet deep and was dug by Ido Khan in
1898 ; the water in it is very brackish, though animals will drink it, and
there is sufficient water for 50 camels, the well refilling again in four
hours.
Camping-ground.—Good on pat ) but commanded by sand-hills to
the east some 100 feet high, which are very steep on the camping-
ground side.
Supplies. —Nil.
Camel-grazing and abundant, chiefly and bana.
Fodder. —Grass nil.

A report, marked as secret, on the area of Nushki, Chagai, and Western Sinjarani. The report was compiled in the Intelligence Branch, Quarter Master General's Department. The report was commenced in 1897 by Captain R E Roome, 6th Bombay Cavalry (Jacob's Horse), and revised and completed by Major W C Walton, 104th Wellesley's Rifles, Deputy Assistant Quarter Master General in 1903. It was printed at the Government Central Printing Office, Simla, in 1904.
The report includes a preface by Colonel John E Nixon, Assistant Quarter Master General, Intelligence Branch (folio 5) and a glossary of vernacular terms used (folio 6). The main body of the report contains chapters on geography, communications, fortified posts and forts, climate, sanitation, resources, ethnography, history, administration, and military strength.
The second part of the report includes a gazetteer of topographical and ethnographic information (folios 36-127) and appendices covering wells, canals, and meteorology, and including a report on the signalling stations of the Dalbandin-Robat line, with sketches (folios 131-147).
