I have the honour to refer to your telegram No. T/170
dated the 4th April, 1941, and to enclose: a copy of a letter which
I have received from Saiyid Shahab bin Faisal, the Sultan^
Representative, with the enclosurer thereto.

Early in December Abdullah bin Mohammad of Gabrin, Iranian
v Mekran, reported that his wife and children had been kidnapped from
hie home and taken to Suwaiq by one Hakimak son of Chiragh, an
Iranian subject. The man was given a letter by this Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. to the
Minister for External Affairs asking him to have enquiries made.
The result of such enquiries as the Minister had been able to make
had not been communicated to me by March the 12th when the woman
Maryam wife of Abdullah bin Mohammad came to the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. and stated
that her husband had found her but that they had neither of them
been able to secure the release of the children. According to the
woman Maryam she and the children were landed at Suwaiq and taken to
the house of Zainab bint Chiragh. Later the children were taken
from there and were handed over to Sheikh Hilal bin Hamad of the al
Sa’ad, whose name has been rather too prominent in previous cases of
a like nature, who is supposed to have concealed the children in
his house pending an opportunity to send them into the interior of
Arabia. A reference was made at once to Saiyid Shahab bin Faisal,
the Sultan's Representative.
