The letter is an acknowledgement of the receipt of, and a reply to a previous communication which enclosed the Roll for a detachment of the Marine Battalion bound for Bushire on board the Minerva . It further notes the measures that the Resident has taken in order to maintain troop strength at the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. at previous levels.
