The letter notes that the Resident has sent the HCC Teignmouth to Muscat in order to forward intelligence to Bombay and Fort William, Calcutta. It further explains that he has applied to Bombay for two cruizers, due to the operations of the Juwaseemee [ Qāsimī One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. ] pirates and his communication issues with India. He also mentions that he is expecting the Persian Ambassador to Scind [Sindh] to arrive in Bushire with the Vakeels of Meer Gullum Ali Khan. The letter also discussed the efforts of the French to get the Persians to expel the British from the country.
