The letter is forwarding extracts from communications to and from Jaffer Ali Khan [Ja‘afar ‘Alī Khān]. The dates of these letters are supplied in the margin, with instructions to examine the inward correspondence book. Only one of these, a translation of a note is enclosed; a translation of a note from Mohumed Kooly Beg to Jaffer Ali Khan, received at Bushire 26 April 1808. The letter concerns the desires of the author to avoid using his own seal on private correspondence sent to Jaffer Ali Khan from Tehran. The author further discusses his shortage of cash and promises that a letter bound for the Isle of France [Mauritius] will be obtained shortly.
