The letter is conveying the Resident's request for the supplies that he would like the Captain to land at Bushire, both for Colonel John Malcolm and the troops aboard the Wexford . He also explains why he cannot consent to supplies for Bussorah [Basra] to be landed at Bushire and outlines provisions to be made for the remaining supplies belonging to the HCC Teignmouth .
