William Bruce provides an update on the Persian troops that are arriving at Bushire to garrison the coast, mentions that Jaffer Ali Khan [Ja‘afar ‘Alī Khān] is in a critical situation at Sheraz [Shiraz] and that the British position at Bushire is looking increasingly precarious. It further outlines the measures he has taken in case the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. should need to be evacuated.
