The letter covers the transmission of intelligence between the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. and Captain Charles Pasley at Basra. It further explains that due to the arrival of the Princess Augusta , which can accommodate the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in the event of an evacuation, William Bruce will permit the Ternate to depart in convoy with the bugulah [ buggalow Large trading vessel. ] for Bussura [Basra] and the Wasp will be retained for future needs; the goods and troops belonging to the British Persian mission to be re-shipped aboard the bugulah are listed.
It also notes that William Bruce has refused a request from Mohumed Jafer to see native letters Letters in Arabic and Persian written by Native Agents which often also contain, as enclosures, correspondence from notable figures in the Gulf and petitions raised by locals. in his possession and that news has arrived via a Persian Gabbrie of an unnamed tribe that is willing to join the British in the event of war with Persia.
