In this letter, received circa 17 June 1802, Samuel Manesty, Resident at Bussora [Basra], informs Merza Mehedi Ally Khaan [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident at Bushire, that on 22 May 1802 the Recovery sailed for the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. with public packets from the India House and a copy of the definitive Treaty of Peace between Great Britain, France, Spain and Holland [Treaty of Amiens], which was signed at Ameins [Amiens] on 25 March 1802. Manesty states that the remittance for 22,000 piasters has been honoured, but the small bill for 2,000 piasters has been returned and does not need to be replaced.
