In this letter, received 12 August 1802, Samuel Manesty, Resident at Bussora [Basra], accepts a request from Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident at Bushire, for the Shannon to touch at Bushire on its way to the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. . Manesty requests information regarding the final sales at Bushire of the consignment of woollens that were carried by the Governor Duncan and the Diamond , in 1801.
