Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident, Bushire, acknowledges the receipt of a letter, dated 13 December 1801, from Emanuel Margotty, which was written in response to the Resident's letter of the previous day [see f 4 2]. The Resident states that Samuel Manesty has written to him to say that if the Embassador [Ambassador] wants the services of the Bombay, then the packet should be forwarded in the same boat that brought it to Bushire. The Resident adds that the Embassador has informed him that he wants the Bombay to proceed to the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. in company with his own ship. The Resident opines that it will be some time before the Embassador will be ready to proceed, and he reiterates his concern that the boat that brought the packet to Bushire may be plundered again and the packet lost.
