In this statement, Robert Babcock declares that the damage caused to the cargo of the Brig Shannon was a result of bad weather suffered at sea. The statement is not addressed to anyone. It appears to be a copy of a copy, which was originally signed by Babcock, in the presence of Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], before being copied by John Taylor and copied again by William Bruce.
