In this letter, received 10 January 1803, James Augustus Grant, Secretary to the Government, Bombay, informs Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident at Bushire, of the appointment of Jonathan Henry Lovett as Resident at Bushire and instructs Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun to deliver over charge of the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. to Lovett upon his arrival.
