In this letter, received 26 January 1803, Samuel Manesty, Resident at Bussora [Basra], acknowledges the receipt of letters from Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident at Bushire, dated 15 and 26 December 1802 respectively. Manesty sends an accompanying packet for Lieutenant Charles Pasley and offers his best wishes for Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun's safe passage to the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. .
