-owing report on the subject of the misdemeanours of the
Sharqi Shaikh, Hamad bin Abdttllah, headman of Fujairah,
and of the recent measures taken by me to get him punished.

Colonel (now Sir P.Z.) Cox once visited Fujairah and warned
Shaikh Hamad to walk warily. This advice, until recent-
