a satisfactory settlement of outstanding cases
against the Khoedad Khel.
A report from Kliost states that the Gov
ernor has been ordered to forward to Kabul the
Kurram outlaws, Saiyid Muhammad Hussein
of Nurkai and Saiyid Abdul Kasim of Paidah,
who have formed the subject of many com
plaints by the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. .
There have been three small and ineffec
tual raids from the Afghan side into the valley
during the month. The Militia came up with
one party and shot two raiders, capturing their
rifles. It is not yet known to what tribe they
belong.
Wazirislan. —Lai, the Hindu concerned
in the recent raid in the Tochi (see last Journal),
has been sentenced to death.
It is reported that an embassy of 12 men
from the Turi Khel, Mauza Khei, and Mohmit

make peace between them and the Mahsuds,
