Messrs Robert ^onckhaus 5: Go’s staff v,ho are interned here.
According to an order recently published by the
Authorities of this Camp the Controller in Charge of the ft
German firms in British last Africa is considering to remit
out of the funds of the firms under his control rllouances
not exceeding Ks.lBC/- per month to members of their staff
■ftho are interned at Ahmednagsr. The period for which such
allowances are to be made has for the present been fixed at
six months, so that the total amount which nay be remitted
to one prisoner is ris.720/~. As there are seven members of
the staff of Messrs. Robert bonckhaus & C6., interned here,
who owing to the difficulties in connection vith obtaining
remittances from Germany have been without any funds for some
months past, I trust that a similar arrangement could be made
by the Authorities in control of Messrs Bobert T7onckhaus & Co
S'11 the more as considerable funds have been found in their
offices in accordance with your letter of the 19th of April
&.C., addressee 5 to the Commandant of this Camp. In case such
an arrangement could be made, I should feel obliged if you
?ould kindly remit to the Commandant of this Camp Hs.5,040/-
to be paid at the rate of 3s.l20/~ p.m. (i.e. 3s.720/~ per
6 months) to the following members of the staff (l) S.Cloye,
