Livqah. —Yamin-ul-Mamalik, the Karguzar at Bushire, arrived in the
Persepolis on the 4th August and landing under a salute of 21 guns from the
ship. The guns on shore also fired a salute.

It is reported that Bahram Rind arrived in Turbat on the 12th June 1922,

Muscat.
Mr. George Tarabulsy, Customs officer at Sohar, returned to Muscat on the
16th August. It is reported that Sayid Hamad has been putting obstacles in
his way and making it difficult for him to collect Customs dues.
Bahrain.
Fahad bin Abdur Rahman, the Nakhuda of a country boat which arrived
from Kuwait via Ojair on the 19th instant, declared that he had on board 32 bags
iron chain and 14 tins of ghee for Bahrain and certain other merchandise for
Kuwait, but the Customs on inspecting his boat found 12 rifles and some 2,400
rounds of ammunition concealed in other packages. These were confiscated by
the Sheikh and the boat allowed to depart. According to the statement of the
Nakhuda these arms were shipped at Kuwait by Abdulla bin Guwehi and were
consigned to Abdulla bin Rashid of Muharraq.
Mr. H. de V. Rubin who recently came to Bahrain to purchase pearls left for
Bombay on the 18th August.
Kuwait.
His Excellency Sheikh Ahmad al Jabir as Subah C.I.E., left Kuwait on the
9th August on a visit to Fao, Basrah and Mohammerah.
There are rumours of a recent raid by Faisal ad Dawish in the neighbourhood
of Jauf.
