Mr. S. Clegg of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company has just returned to Bushire
from ms tour through the summer quarters of the Kashgais. He was given a very
warm welcome by Soulet who was extremely friendly, and his tour has undoubted
ly been a great success. Mr. Mckilligan, one of the Company’s geologists, who was
accompanymg him, saw several promising oil shows in country hitherto unexplored*

A large Hindu caravan has been robbed near Qaleh Qazi on the Bandar Abbas-
Kerman road.

On the 10th September a linesman of the Indo-European Telegraph Depart
ment whilst on inspection duty was attacked by some robbers near Poozah Meel
about six miles from Bandar Abbas and his horse killed. The Deputy Governor
has written to the kadkhuda concerned to apprehend the culprits.
The Minab district is much disturbed. Many robberies have taken place, and
Mir Abdullah Khan son of Mir Barkat with Mir Hoti and Kal Hamzah are reported
to have plundered several villages and looted merchandise on the road from Minab
to Tiyab.
His Excellency Mushar-ed-Dowleh telegraphed to Mirza Ahmad Khan, Deputy
Governor of Minab to come to Mohammerah, and the latter left Bandar Abbas on
the 29th September leaving Qaid Muhammad Ali Khan in charge.
Seven political deportees from Iraq arrived under military escort on the 26th
September for detention in Hen jam.
A shipment of 20 casks and 50 packages Indigo of German manufacture consign
ed by a firm in Germany trading under the name of Ghazanfar to Agha Ali Reza
