It is reported from Kashan that Gendarmes that were sent in pursuit of
Mansoor Kumi surrounded him at Maranjab, some ten farsakhs from the town
of Kashan, and after seven hours’ fighting killed Mansoor and five of his
followers, capturing four. Mansoor’s body was taken into Kashan. Them
were several casualties among the Gendarmes. Naib Mohammed, the ©fficer
in charge, and two men were wounded and four men were killed.
Samsam-es-Sultaneh has definitely given up the Illkhaniship and has
gone to Tehran. Amir Mufakhan and Murteza Kuli Khan are carrying on
the Government of the Bakhtiari temporarily, pending conclusion of a definite

Minister warning him against the actions and intentions of Samsam-es-
