There is tendency to consider that the Budget of
Bahrain State is elastic and
that as long as the total
estimated expenditure is not exceeded, small attention need
be paid to over expenditure under various Headings.
Some time ago it was suggested by the Hon’ble the
Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. that a budget should he -mue for wir
years in advance.
This could be done but it would be quite impossible
to adhere to it; at present it is only with very great
difficulty that the actual expenditure is .v-pt
reasonable distance -from the budgeted amounts.
