Shaikh Mana* visited Sharjah recently to assess
the chances of his making a successful coup at Dubaij
the excuse he gave to the Political Officer^ Trucial
Coast, was that ne wished to ascertain the attitude of
His Majesty's Government -- whether they would assist
his return to Dubai where he would initiate much needed

him in plain terms that his presence at Sharjah was a
violation of the undertaking he had given to the Shaikh

and everyone concerned. Shaikh Mana» left Sharjah
shortly afterwards.
