We have been conaulted by *&r. Y # ?,* Kbonji of
this City with ref«ren*e to the bwaineae of Ice making
carried on by him formerly In partnership with Sheikh Kamed
at Bahrein, and we have before us a copy of the letter which
our client wrote to you on the 15th August lest and to which
no reply has yet been received.
Subsequent to the writing of that letter our
client was infornwd that the keys of the Ice making factory An East India Company trading post.
at Bahrein had been handed by Sheikh Ha^ed to the
Municipality and the latter had entered into possession of
the factory An East India Company trading post. and was working for their own use the whole of
the plant and machinery therein. Upon receiving such
informatlcm our client wrote a letter to the Municipality,
a copy of which Is enclosed, and he has received in reply
a letter dated the 4th October 1930, a copy of which is
also enclosed. From the last mentioned letter you will
observe that the Municipality state that they have been
granted by the Government of Bahrein a five years cole
monopoly for the sale of Ipe in Bahrein, and they state
that neither our client nor any other person has the right
to sell io© in Bahrein. Both our client and we are
absolutely at a loss to understand the position of the
matter. We are instructed that Sheikh Hamed, with whom our
client was formerly in partnership. Is the head of the
Bahrein Government and if this is so we do not understand
how Sheikh Hamed can dispose of his share in the
