from the partnership and until he advised him to withdraw from
participation he used annually to pay considerable sums into
the concern for which he received no return. The Adviser
added that the machinery had been amicably divided between
the two parties and that they had signed an agreement stating
t-hat ea-ch had received his full share. Two matters remained j
outstanding:
(i) the division of the actual
land and buildings.
' ii) payment oi half the total profits
made by the Municipality during
the one year they had worked tne
machines.
The half of the total profits amounted to slightly under
Rs.2,000 being actually Rs.1,880. He claimed that half the
building was the property of Shaikh Hamad and said that
Shaikh Hamad T s claim on half the building might be set off
against the half of the profits which were due to Ir.Khunii
for the summer in which the Municipality worked the machine
before the division was made.
13. On the 13th November 1931 the solicitors sent me another
letter saying they were surprised to find that their client
had been refused permission to commence operations with the
ice plant and that their client ! s agent had been told by the
Adviser that he would not receive the half profits for 1930
Unless he produced the accounts of the partnership up to
the year 1926. They stated that T each and every account
during the partnership has been furnished from time to time,
and any profit or loss has year by year been paid or allowed’.
They also stated that it was 5 years since the partnership
had expired and that they would he obliged if I v/ould see the
Adviser and obtain the amount due from him. The Adviser.to
whom I sent a copy of this letter^sent Mr. Khun j i a reply in
which he stated that half the building was owned by Shaikh
Hamad and he suggested that its value should be assessed and w
when this was known arrangements could he made for the
