Content: This file contains papers relating to the domestic political situation in Iran during 1949, and its international repercussions. In particular the papers discuss Perso-Soviet relations and Anglo-American fears of Soviet involvement with the Tudeh party in Iran. The papers also discuss various other matters, including the seven year economic development plan proposed by the Persian government, United Nations security council negotiations, embassy closures, and international radio propaganda from the Soviet Union. The papers are almost all diplomatic cables and dispatches forwarded between British legations in Tehran, Washington, and the Foreign Office in London.
