I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter
Ho. 573 dated the 15th March 1907, regarding the emoluments
admissible to Major S.G. Knox, Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. , Koweit.
2. In reply I am to say that the local and sumptuary allow
ances admissible to Major Knox are those that have been passed
to him by the Comptroller, India Treasuries, viz a local al
lowance of Rs. 200/- and a sumptuary allowance of Rs. 100/-
a mo
nth. The entries of Rs. 400/- and 200/- respectively shown
against Major Knox’s name in the Quarterly Civil List of the
Foreign Department for 1st October 190 6 are due to a printer's
error which will be corrected in the next issue of the List.
I am to request that Major Knox may be informed accordingly.
