Photostatic copy of a map of the east coast of Saudi Arabia, from Doha Manifa [Dawḩat Munīfah] in the south to El Maqta [Khawr al Maqţa‘] in the north. The map indicates hydrography and land features.
Included on the map is a short handwritten note, dated 30 June 1938 and addressed to Hugh Weightman, Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Bahrain, by Max Thornburg. In the note Thornburg states that the hydrography has been sketched in from Admiralty charts but is 'of questionable accuracy.'
The map was printed by the California Arabian Standard Oil Company's Producing Department (Geological Division).
