somewhat abbreviated form, and follow on by giving, on
instructions from our respective Governments^ the°assurance
contained in your above-mentioned telegram. Communications
will be separate but we are agreed to see Minister for
Foreign Affairs together.
Af cer the reading we propose to hand documents to
Minister for Foreign Affairs.
3. But my Soviet colleague is still without instructions,
though he hopes to receive them early to-morrow. He realises
importance oi joi^t action to-morrow and failing arrival of
his instructions, I shall do my best to induce him to act
