unofficially hy Mr. Fraser of the J.P.C. that
the negotiations have "been broken off, at any
rate for the time being. Unless this is a
stage in a game of bluff it rather suggests
that the standard Oil are more hopeful of the
possibility of finding a market for their
Bahrein products. So far as our political
interests in this areaare concerned it is,
however, unfortunate that tne uegotiations
should have taken this turn.
