Letter from HM Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary A diplomatic representative who ranks below an ambassador. The term can be shortened to 'envoy'. to Persia [Iran], Sir Harford Jones, to his secretary David Morier, of 9 June 1810. In the letter Jones requests that Morier remove a dispatch concerning ‘the affair of the Chintz and Tobacco’ from a packet addressed to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the East India Company.
The letter was enclosed in Jones’s secret letter of 27 July 1810, which was received on 21 November 1810.
