Dear Sir,
BAHREIN LOCAL TIME
4 I.A. ^ Could I please suggest that Bahrein Local Time
might be slightly altered. It is, as you know, at present
3if hours ahead of G.M.T., but it might, with advantage,
be advanced to 4 or even hours ahead of G.M.T.

3. When I was at Jiwani, we altered the Local Time
from 5 to 0 hours ahead of G.M.T. by local agreement.
If the Local Authorities at Bahrein such as the Naval
Officer-in-Charge, the O.C. Levies, the Oil Companies,
Gray Mackenzie and other interested parties find such an
idea convenient, then presumably this could be put into
effect. In this case, Sharjah would also have to make
some alteration in their timings in order to conform.
I should be interested to know if you think this
is a good idea. In a few weeks from now, on present timing,
it will be quite dark at 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
