Reproduction of a black and white map, with illustrations, which is subtitled ‘Executed during movements of the Shaibi column between 31 August and 20 September 1903.’ The map shows the route taken by the Shaibi column through the tribal areas of the Muflahai [Maflaḩī], Shaibi [Shaybī] and Rube’aten [Ar Rubay‘atayn]. The map indicates: the contours of the terrain; sources of water, including wells and running water; the position of the column’s overnight camps.
Around the edges of the map are nine topographic drawings:
- Jabal-Awabil [‘Awābil] from the upper camp, looking SW;
- three views showing Gun Hill;
- the Banā river, looking downstream from Nashafa;
- two views of the villages of Hadara;
- view from the upper camp looking NE;
- view of the Dala [Ad Dali’] camp showing the relative positions of Khalla and Awabil [‘Awābil].
