With reference to previous correspondence
regarding the rights claimed by the Anglo-Persian
Oil Company in Asiatic Turkey, I am directed by
Secretary Sir Edward Grey to transmit to you,
herewith, a copy of a letter from tne Admiralty
expressing the hope that no decision will be come to
in the matter without previous consultation with
them.
Sir Edward Grey understands that tentative
and informal discussions are meanwhile taking place
ad referendum between the Board of Trade and the
Asiatic Petroleum Company.
I am to add that a similar letter has been
addressed to the Board of Trade and Treasury.
