The correspondence is mainly between staff of the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. , Bahrain, and the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. . There is also some correspondence with the Political Officer, Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. (POTC); and the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. The budget estimates cover expenditure on pay of officers; pay of establishment; allowances, honoraria etc.; secret expenditure; and other charges. Also included are detailed pay statements for officers and establishment; statements of 'K-Special War Charges'; statements of fixed and contract grants; statements of anticipated excesses and savings; and statements of modifications.

The latter particularly concerns the maintenance grant for the truck supplied to the Political Officer, Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. , December 1945 - August 1946.
