Mt Lord Marquess,
With reference to Your Lordship’s despatch No. 78 (Political),
dated the 2nd August 1912, we have the honour to forward herewith copies of
a Protectorate Treaty concluded with Sultan Kasim bin Ahmed, the Audali,
which has been ratified by the Viceroy and Governor-General in Council,
together with copies of the papers cited in the annexed list.
2. With regard to the conclusion of a treaty with the Sultan of Beda,
Your Lordship will observe from paragraph 2 of letter No. 5991, dated the
15th October 1914, from the
Government of Bombay
From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions.
, that owing to the
attitude of the Sultan it is proposed not to press him further at present in the
matter.
