Content: This file contains a letter from Charles Belgrave, Adviser to the Government of Bahrain to Cornelius James Pelly, Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Bahrain. The letter discusses in detail the ethnic, religious (and to a lesser extent, social) composition of Bahraini society with an emphasis on those of Persian origin.
