referred by the court to the ‘Majlis Tijara*
which also deals with certain diving cases,
inheritance ana divorce cases are aeait with
by the ohera courts but in every case the
judgments or these advisory courts are referred
back to the Bahrain Court for confirmation and
promulgation.
In addition to these duties the Bahrain
Court examines every sale or registration of
property before a title deed is issued and
satisfies itself that the particulars in the
title deed which is applied for are correct,
although this lork is very laborious ana takes
much time its eventual value will be veiy great.
The systems of water rights in Bahrain is extre
mely complicated ana is the subject of incessant
litigation but by degrees it is being examined
ana recorded.
7. The Bahrain Court acts as a rubnc Trustee
in cases when the heirs apply for administration
by the Bahrain uourt. The court charges no fee
for administration except the original court fee
which is levied on the whole estate. Bankruptcy
cases are dealt with in a similar way.
8 . The Bahrain Court does not work according
to any legal code or regulations, except in
important criminal cases such as murder. in
trying cases of this nature the court is guided
by the Indian renal uode or rather by the ouaan

This file contains copies of the financial records of the Government of Bahrain that were sent to the British Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. in Bahrain by Charles Belgrave, Adviser to the Government of Bahrain. The records cover the years 1352-1354AH (1933-1935). These records include details of the expenditure and budget of the government.

The file also contains annual reports written by Charles Belrave that cover a range of topics including the pearling industry in Bahrain, education, agriculture, the police force, and public works.
